Since my surgery in Dec 08 my husband has lost 20 lbs. I think it is great because he needs to lose weight too. He didn't want to have the surgery because he wasn't ready to make that change. But, between my new way of cooking (whe I do cook) and him cutting out the McDonalds, he is doing great.

Congrats Sandra on showing your husband he can do it too!!  Just making little changes like that makes a big difference.  He is learning from you and he is learning by example!!
Take care and enjoy your new journey!!!

Thanks Gina. My 17 yr old has about 20lbs to lose now that his sport season is over. He has seen us losing weight and as of this week he is jumping on the band wagon too.

Hi Sandra,

I know that it does make an incredible difference for our loved ones. My daughter went from wearing a size 13/14 down to a size 8/10. Of course, she didn't have surgery either, but started making some signicant changes in her food choices.

Wishing you and your husband continued success,

Barbara

As I was telling Gina, my son now has started to watch what he is eating too. He only has about 20 lbs to lose but better now than when it is 50 or more. I bet your daughter feels and looks better. Good for her!

Hi Sandra,

I have to tell you that for me the biggest issue was resolving my diabetes. I think that the second thing I'm most pleased about is the impact that this has had on Sarah. My quality of life improvements follow as a distant 3rd because I know that I'm likely to be healthy enough to be alive and able for her as she grows up and has her own family and she is likely to grow up healthier and happier. The fact that I can breathe when I tie my shoes, fit in a booth, and wear single digit sizes is just the icing on the cake and the cherry on top.

I have a long way to go before I am close to where I want or need to be but the improvements in me and my life are amazing. I went on bp meds about 9 months ago when my bp was 190/110. My cholesterol was 201 and my triglycerides were high. Now, I am off of my bp meds and my blood pressure yesterday was 112/76. My cholesterol is 160 and my triglycerides are with in normal range. I have more energy than I have had in years. 4 to 5 times a week I go with friends to work out. Life feels good. This has been fun.

WOW!  It is really awesome that you are being such a positive influence on your husband.  My darling Dean has gained weight since I have lost.  LOL.. but in his defense, he needed to put some on.  :)

Keep up the good work!
