Healthy cold cereal
I am 4 months post op and need advice on a healthy cold cereal. Since surgery, I've been drinking my protein shake for breakfast but I am getting burned out with the shake every morning. Cooking breakfast is not an option for me, up at 5 and out the door before 6 for my 45 minute commute. I need a healthy cold cereal that I can eat when I get to work.
Any advice?
Thanks!
I haven't tolerated milk & cereal very well so when I get to work I either fix i 1)nstant oatmeal 2) fage greek yogurt with a handful of granola cereal or splenda brown sugar & cinnamon mixed in 3) cottage cheese w/ splenda sweetened fruit cup 4) protein bar of some type 5) A protein shake
This is my set menu for the week so this way I don't eat the same thing twice during the work week.
Weekends is when I struggle the most. By the time I drink a cup or 3 of coffee and do my crossword puzzle I could care less if I eat or not. By the time lunch rolls around I'm out of the house and gone. So lately I've struggled to get in anything prior to dinner time.

I know you said cold cereal because you have to eat it at work but here are two option that I do because I get up at 5:30 and am out the door at 6:15.
1) Take an oatmeal packet with me and I keep some protein powder at my desk at work. I get some ho****er out of the coffee maker at work. A few of the other WLS peeps at my job also will go upstairs to the cafeteria microwaves and heat the water up there. We add it to the oatmeal and then stir in some protein powder.
2) I make protein smoothies on my way out the door. They are always super fast!
1 cup dole frozen fruit mix (peahces, pineapple, etc.)
1 cup dole frozed strawberries (I get 8lb bags at Sam's for 8.67)
1 scoop vanilla Isopure Whey protein (25g protein)
1 cup Tropicana Light and Healthy OJ. (No added sugar!)
2 TSP Benefiber.
That's it. Then I blend away!!! It's done in less than 5 minutes and I can carry it out the door with me and drink on it for about an hour.
You get 2 servins of fruit right out of the door and around 30g of protein and lots of fiber to help keep from grazing.
The other smoothie I make is this:
1 cup Light Silk (soy milk - I can't stand it plain, but it's awesome as a smoothie maker)
1 cup frozen mixed blueberries, blackberries, raspberries
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 scoop vanilla Isopure
2 TSP benefiber
OR
1 Cup Ocean Spray Cran-Ergy Sugar Free cranberry drink
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 large banana
1 scoop vanilla Isopure
2 TSP benefiber
Somtimes I have to add a couple of ice cubes to this one since the bananas aren't frozen
I don't eat it very often simply b/c it takes me to long to eat it and it gets mushy :)
