I had my surgery on the 16th and I have to do liquids only.  My doctors said I could do protein shakes or ensure/boost, and broth. I am getting kind bored.  My food processor can liquify anything can you take fruit and make it liquid and add it to the ensure?

As long as it's not "chunky" you should be fine.  Sounds really good!

Hi Sarah,

It's really important to follow your surgeon's protocol. Each surgeon and program seem to have a different take on the dietary portion of the program. It's probably the greatest single variable, so that what is okay and works for someone else, may not be okay for you if it's not in line with your surgeon's plan.

My husband and I had our surgeries through DukeWLS and they require you to stay on a liquid only diet for 3.5 weeks. They don't allow you to puree anything either, but that doesn't mean that your program won't allow it. Just check with them. Ours required all liquids, with the exception of Boost, Ensure, or protien drinks to be clear enough to be able to read through them.
