Hi gang, I'm still in my stall era and I'm adj. to it but could someone please explain about the stall and the body's starvation mode.  and explain why eating more might help?  I'm totally confused.

Thanks

Sharon

Sharon,

I worked with a nutritionist for a year. She said your body needs so many calories to burn fat. When we don't eat enough food our body is afraid we are trying one of those awful diets  where we starve ourselves again and fat cells will hold onto the fat. We need to eat 800 to 1000 calories minimum. Some people are different.

What would it hurt to go up in calories 200-300 and up your protien. Log everything and make sure you are getting the  amount of protien your doctor recommends. Mine recommends 50-70 grams of protien.

Hey Sharon,

Just a note to let you know that Tamara's got the drill down. Be sure that you are getting enough calories and protien in. You can also see about fluctuating your calories a bit, but to be honest, as long as you are doing all of that sometimes those stalls just stick for a while. It's basically your bodies way of taking a breather. If you get your tape measure out, you be seeing some progress there until the scale decides to quit being stingy.
