7 weeks and my pouch still wants soft & creamy
Dona,
I'd call the nutritionist/surgeon for suggestions before doing anything, of course, but now that I've given that disclaimer ...
if your pouch wants/tolerates soft & creamy then that's what I'd give it.
My first few weeks once I was allowed "real" food, I still had times where all that felt good was yogurt/pudding consistency. I protein'd it up as much as possible! But if that's what it wanted, and that's what felt good in there, that's what it got.
Although eggs are very soft, I STILL cannot tolerate them very well. My pouch just doesn't like them. I would have LOVED to utilize that protein in those first weeks, but I just couldn't. Still can't. And next month, I'll be 2 years postop!

I never never ever rushed my body with moving on to the next food stage. I stayed on soft foods for about 2 months because I just did not feel good if I ate anything of any substance. I just feel that our bodies all heal at different rates and we need to respect that. :) It is certainly better to deal with the boring and mundane now than to rush and possibly make yourself sick or hurt something trying to eat foods you are not ready for yet. :) Just my 2 cents becasue it worked for me!
I cannot agree more. It was just that the information I got form the Nutritionist listed all these other foods, so I was not sure if I was a slow healer or if I should make peace with my limited meal plan of the future.
I have followed the orders to the letter. I am an athlete and very compliant, so my only real concern was that i might go off program if things got too mundane. I will just keep reminding myself I am still healing and to go slow and things will work themslves out.
Thanks so much
