7 weeks and my pouch still wants soft & creamy
All in all I feel great and have lost 28.5 lbs. No complaints at all there. I am exercising and I have lots of energy. The menu is becoming a bit mundane and I fear bordeom will set in before freedom of choice rears its head. I have been able to include chili, imagine that a chicken leg is rejected but chili works!!
I woudl apprecite any tidbits of advice here.
Thanks everyone,
Dona
As far as a timeframe goes - I don't think there is one. Every pouch is different and my doc basically describes everything as trial and error at this point.
Good Luck!!

Hi Dona,
I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling and would suggest that you call Patrick. I would think that you should be able to tolerate a more diverse and substantial diet by now. Next, I would ask to be seen by one of the RNs or Dr's to have them evaluate you for a stricture. Of course, I'm not a medical person at all, but if it were Ben or I, that's the course, I'd take because I don't think that the consistency of the diet you are describing is 'normal' in my experience.
Wishing you all the best,
Barbara

Hope you are feeling better and Happy Birthday. Mine was the 11th so we have yet another thing in common!
My diet has expaned. I can eat chili, meatloaf, chicken salad and some other items. Just cannot tolerate eggs, tuna, fish of any kind really, beef, poultry and I had a small piece of a BBQ rib that stayed down.
It is just very clear my pouch prefers soft and creamy over everthing else.
I spoke with Liz the other day & she asked me to focus on how fast I was eating and the size of the bites. I have done so but no change. She said my pouch is probably just not ready for denser heavier foods yet and to try again in a week or so.
I ate a lot of tuna to start and she suggested that my body may be tired of it causing me to feel sick when I eat it. Not starving by any means, just wanting to avoid boredom and cheating. My pouch loves oyster crackers and goldfish crackers. Go figure!!
Thanks and I will keep an eye on things

You might want to try shellfish in it's myriad of varieties; especially, shrimp, crab and lobster. They are dense in protien and nutrients and low in calories. There are a variety of ways to prepare them, including just a simple ****tail. Trader Joes has a wonderful house ****tail sauce that just has 1 gram of sugar.
It's still early and it will get better.
