An update on me from me

I hope you all will excuse any typos as i type this one handed in the bed. I am using my husbands laptop but have no desire to sit it on my stomach!!! I have survived my surgey, yes. Was or is it easy,NO.I had a hernia repair & a panni....whatever it is. My doctor was very pleased with his work & I am sure one day I will be too.But 4 days out,not so much.He removed 11lbs of skin & repaired the hernia which he said was worse than he expected. My colon had attached itself to my hernia & my intestines were in there also.He had no where to attach the mesh so I am not gauranteed it will never come back.He said the only place he could was the rib & if he had it would hurt everytime i took a breath for life.So he is hoping it will adhere to the muscle.I was told I would possibly come home on Wed. but while ther my blood count dropped so I was there again in Thursday & Friday.Friday morning my blood count had dropped again..lower than good. The surgical team started talking blood transfusion which scared me silly. They said walking would help so I was ready to walk as much as I needed. They checked it again fridday around 11 and it had went back up so I was going home. Happy I was!Friday at home was good ...painful but good.I woke up this morning and had right much blood around my drain tube sites. I went to the bathroom and passed out. My husband was there and I was ok.He got me to the bed and I layed there awhile and was ok. I have been walking around the house some inside today in hopes not to experience that again. I dont know if my blood count had dropped or what.I told Cindy and of course she fussed at me for not calling the doctor but I am just not like that.If it happens again I will call but if not I will just tell them when i call in with my drain stuff.
Sorry if i have rambled but i thought i would share my experience.I know that one day when all the pain is gone and the tubes are out i will be pleased.Heck I have  a waistline, something I never had before. But i am done with surgeries for awhile,my girls will just have to hang to the floor!!I still dont regret my rny or actually i dont regret this either..i really am just in pain and am ready to get back to normal.I am tired of walking hunched over.Maybe next week at this time i will look back and be amazed.POSITIVE THINKING!!! TY all for your prayers and thoughts. I can still use them.

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a rough time.  Here's hoping and praying that the worst is behind you now and that you feel better with each passing day.  And please call the doctor if you pass out again!!!!

Gentle hugs,

Hi Melissa,

I'm so sorry to hear that you have had such a heroing experience, but I'm hoping that like with a difficult childbirth, the benefits will far out the pain.

Wishing you a gentle and speedy recovery,

Barbara

Melissa, I sure hope Sunday morning finds you feeling better!  I'm sorry it has been such an ordeal for you.

Keep up the positive thinking!  I'm sure you are right.  In a month, you'll look back on this and think it wasn't so bad.  And well worth the effort, pain.  Kinda like childbirth!

Keep us posted.  We are interested, you know!

Melissa,

I was going to try to go by the hospital on Thursday, but my husbands appointment ran over and I just ran out of time.  It sounds as though you may not have been up to a visit anyway.

I am glad that it is over and feel sure that as you improve you will be also.  Hope you fell better real soon.

Hugs,

Melissa,

I know this is late, but since you've had a couple more days I hope you're feeling better.  I know that abdominal surgery isn't fun, my WLS was no big deal but when I had my hysterectomy I thought I would die.  Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with you!  Please keep us updated and make sure to tell your doc about passing out.  I'm thinking about having a tummy tuck/boob job but will have to wait until I get the $$$.  It's crazy how much it costs!  Anyway, take care and keep thinking positive!

Hugs,

Sheryl
