Will the mind ever catch up????
Hey everyone!! Hope everybody enjoyed their Valentine's Day. Mine was great and here's why:
TODAY I BOUGHT AND ACTUALLY FIT VERY WELL WITH ROOM LEFT OVER IN A SIZE 12 MISSES JEANS!!!!!!!!
How incredible is that???? I have been wearing mostly 14's for the past several months and even though all my friends, family, and co-workers have been telling me that my slacks and jeans are too big, I just kept thinking to myself that there would be no way I could get my big butt into a smaller size. BUT I DID!!!!! Mom and I went shopping today and I thought I'd try the 12's on just for kicks. I about died when they actually fit and I didn't have to suck my belly in to fasten them or anything!!!! So I bought them suckers as fast as I could get them to the register along with a nice pair of dress slacks for work in a size 12 too. LOL!!! I read somewhere that the average "normal" size for a woman is a size 12. I guess that means I'm normal now, huh??
The weird thing is that even at 19 months out, I still see myself as weighing the same that I did before I had surgery. It makes no sense to me that my mind just can't seem to catch up with all the changes my body has gone through since surgery. I wonder if that will ever change.
Well, thanks for letting me share my awesome WOW moment. As we all know, they come fewer and farther between this far out from surgery. Sometimes I think that makes us appreciate them even more. I know I sure do.
Hugs,
Donna

Hi Donna,
Congratulations on your wonderful WOW. I think it will take some time for us to really wrap our heads around the new us. I think that tends to be especially true when we don't have an 'average or normal' size reference.
Enjoy!

Donna,
I'm almost 2 years postop and my mind still hasn't totally caught up. I guess it will eventually. It boggles my mind when other people say something to me about me being "so tiny" or "so little", because I'm not seeing the same thing they're seeing yet.

I think the answer to that question is no. My mind has certainly NOT caught up with my body and how I look at myself. I still see old 324 pound Jennifer in the mirror most days. I am contantly looking at myself in the mirror, not to admire.. but to critique and make sure that I am not blimping up again.
Hopefully one day our feeble minds will catch up with our hawt bod!!
