5 wonderful lbs after the stall

I stalled for 10 days and finally I had a 5 lb drop. Hurray! I have been going to the gym, eating right and I keep stalling. Well now, maybe it isn't a stall I am thinking. Maybe that is just my way of losing weight. Lose 5 lbs and then stall for a week or two, then lose again. Well it is better than nothing but I sure would like to lose 5 a week continuously. I know some people do and I try not to be envious but I don't always succeed at that. Oh well, it is much better than gaining right?

It's so frustrating when the scales don't move - yet you know you're doing everything right. Chalk it up to that being the way you'll lose and reap the benefits. So many times when the scale doesn't move the tape measure will.

Good Luck & keep up the great work.

I have been seeing a difference in my clothes so I believe you are right. I will have to go home and measure. I only have my waist measurements but I know that the last time I measured it was over 12 inches lost. I haven't measured for at least 2 to 3 weeks.

Hi Sandra,

I think that you are much more the norm than the exception. I know that if often feels as though everyone else is sliding right past you, but the general reality is that we drop and stop as though we are going down stairs instead of going down a slide. It's likely that you will continue to drop and stop all the way down.

Wishing you continued success,

Barbara

I try to remember why I did this in the first place. I know I wanted to look better but I really wanted to be halthier and to feel better and I do. Off of my bp meds. Yea! I can't wait until I am off of the cpap. That will be great. I tried it for 1/2 a night last week. I woke up in gasp knowing I still needed it. I really hope when I lose more weight that will correct itself too.

Oh how well I know and I'm right there with you.  I'm on a stall had RNY 01-05-09 did great  2  weeks and then the stall, going on 2 weeks and its very disheartening.  I am eating what I'm suppose to do, I am going to the gym, if not I'm walking the neighborhood and still nothing.  I have taken my measurements and have a lost total of 5 in's in the last 2 weeks.  I'm getting really down especially on myself.  but  maybe "This to shall pass"  Just any tips would be greatly appreciated.  Good luck.

I was really surprised at how slow I was losing weight after the first two weeks. I thought I would lose it a lot more quickly. I lost weight before surgery at a much quicker pace. How can I be eating less and losing more slowly. Well, there are about 15 good reasons for it but the fact is, it is what it is. I am losing. Slow but still a loss. I hear of people losing 70 lbs in 3 months! It is not going to happen here. I think I thought I would be one of the lucky ones. I had my surgery 12/22/08. I lost 20 lbs before surgery. I have lost 31 since surgery. today is my 7 week surgiversary. I should weigh about 125lbs right? heh heh All I can say is that it is coming off and I am feeling better. I do not regret the surgery at all even if I am not a quick loser. Good luck and take it easy on your self. Stick to the diet, exercise, drink pleny of water, and get your protein in. Other than that, you don't have any control. Just enjoy the ride whether it is slow or fast.

It does make me just crazy. How can we not lose weight when we are taking in so little? It seems like it should be just falling off. ugh

You are right! My nut said I am doing everything right so Go figure?? To date I've lost 60% of my excess body fat, which is what I keep focusing on!!!
Yesterday I went to the gym and talked with a trainer, decided I needed him to tailor a workout for me, besides the fact he said I was doing everything wrong!! I don't know if that was just a sales pitch or what, I really don't care as long as it helps!!!

Keep up the good work!
