Drain tube out!!!
I went yesterday and had the drain tube removed. YIKES! I feel so much more free now. I don;t have to have someone helping me with my shower because I'm holding that thing with one hand.
On a happier note, I had lost 6lbs since the morning of the surgery (that includes the 5 lbs I gained during my stay in the hospital - fluid?). He said I was doing really well and expected another 8 or 9 before my two week visit next week. Yeah!!!
Now for a question...last night I couldn't lay in the bed because of bad gas pains. Felt better sitting up. Any suggestions for this? I'm looking for Beano in the drops but no luck yet. I walked some this morning because I know that helps too.
Thanks

I walked a lot today. This morning to the fire house, then this afternoon to the school to get my kids and then we took my daughter to dance class so I was walking a bit then too. I feel a lot better and was even told by a couple of people at school (where I work) that they could really tell it already in my face. One little girls said she didn't recognize me because my cheeks weren't really puffy. Ha! My husband has been saying that but I didn't believe him. I still can't see it. But maybe soon! This morning before the shower (with no clothes of course) I saw 229 on the scales. It's been a year since I've seen the 220's. Wow moment???
Hey Ginny, glad to hear you're doing well and the tube is gone.... One of the nurses that works with Dr. C told me that most gastric bypass patients lose weight from the top down.... I know folks noticed it in my face first too. I couldn't see it but others did and I've seen the same thing in folks that I've known since.
Keep up the great work... Alice

I know you're relieved that tube is out. I don't envy you! I still don't understand why you had a drain tube and I didn't, although we have the same surgeon!! Plus, I had to do anti-coagulant Lovenox shots for two weeks and you didn't.
How are your moods going? Has your head spun around yet? Any green vomit? I do believe my head sprouted horns during the first two or three weeks. My poor husband...
I too gained about 6 pounds from the fluids, but it came off quickly. I didn't have that much gas or gas pain, but I did burp a lot. In fact, I felt like burping all the time those first two weeks. Even now, when I take a sip of liquid I often feel like burping.
