Pre -op

I have spent the last two days being turnned upside down and shook out.  I think they have done every test known to man and took at least 3 quarts of blood and thrown every piece of information there is in my head and ...... I have signed every piece of paper in the universe .  Now comes the hard part..... the big 10 day liquid diet.  I start that tomorrow and then comes the big day.  I am so excited its here at last.  Thanks everyone for all your help you each have been a blessing in the process.

Leslie - I am so excited for you!  As Annie said - Keep your eye on the prize.  The 10 day liquid diet was not bad at all because I knew why I was doing it and it was so important to a good surgery and recovery.

Thanks for the encouragement !!!!  Today I am excited maybe tomorrow I maybe be less than happy but I can do anything for a few days to get what I want .  The game plan isw to stay busy to avoid downtime.  I will yell if I need help.

The 10 day diet was not sooo bad!  Just remember you are doing this to make your surgery easier on the dr. and YOU!!! 

I told Dr. Hata before my surgery that he would have to send out a search party for my liver because I had followed that diet to the letter!!!  He just laughed and told my mom when I was finished with surgery that my liver was indeed very very small!! 

Like others before me have said.....Keep your eye on the prize and your head in the game!!!!

I would like to visit you in the hospital if you like.  I am just mere minutes away!!  Let me know!

Oh Pam I would love some company I will have surgery on the 16 at 6 am and then again on the 17 that one I dont have a time for but if I you wait till later in the day I am sure I will be out I think they told me they did the surgery in the early am and it took 5 hours.

I'm so excited for you. Take heart in knowing that there are a bunch of people on here who have made it through the pre-op liquid diet - and you can too!!!!!!!!!

You go Leslie!!!  I am stoked for you! If you respond like many have, you will get nervous  just before surgery. I know I will. Just remember that it is normal and this is a blessing  that will forever change your life. All the things you have always wanted to do, but were unable, are about to be possible! The sky is your only limit!!!

Hi Leslie,

Congratulations on getting through all of the testing. I'm sure you'll handle the liquid diet. Remember to write down and refer to your list of why you are doing this to keep perspective when you are in the midst of the liquid diet. You might also want to make a list of ways you might undermine or sabotage yourself and then create some positive plans of action.  I'm sure it will carry you through your weight loss surgery journey as well.
