Yep, its me, the whiner, I know I can come here and get some support, I have no one else to turn too.  Hubby called late last night and told me they were FINALLY leaving Ramstein.  He called this morning and then went on instant messanger/webcam at the airport.  They were scheduled to board at 1:00 pm Europe time.  I got a message that YES the plane took off and was in the air, going to land at Cherry Point at 5 ish tonight and then the Marines would be back here at New River at 7:30 pm.  I told work my situation and took the day off.   Hubby asked for one of his favorite meals so I put my pot roast in the crock pot, made a cake and had to go out in town for a few last minute errands.  I get back and the answering machine is talking... its hubby!! Drugged out of his mind on Ambien (they all took one to sleep through the noisy C5 engines) he said  after two hours of flying, that the wimpy Air Force flight crew noticed that one of the Helicopters was leaking fluid on the flight deck (anyone that does not know, the helicopters ALWAYS leak something!) SO THEY MADE A EMERGENCY LANDING AT ROYAL AIR FORCE BASE MILDENHALL, ENGLAND.  I am beside myself right now, I have worked myself up in a tiz and on the verge of losing it.   I just took a Valium to calm down.  The icing on the cake is the Air Force is now claiming they already did flight time today AND IS DEMANDING THERE 16 HOURS OF REST TIME   The leaking fluid is no cause for any emergency landing, it is not a fire hazard nor did it hinder the flying or safety of the aircraft.

THANK YOU GANG for listening to me..... the hours and days have been longer then I can explain and I just cannot take anymore delays...........PLEASE pray, throw a spell, send some witchcraft, magical powers WHATEVER YOU GOT towards England right now!!!!!

Darcie...who is dying to see her husband.

Darcie, honey - I have been following your story since last week... I woke up Saturday morning and thought - Darcie and hubby will be re-united tonight.  And then see all the stalls... I know you are beside yourself.  And the absolute worst part is nothing can be done to change the situation....

Hope you can put the pot roast in the fridge and finish your homecoming supper tomorow.  Surely this will be over soon.

I hope that they do not grant the AF the 16 hours after just 2 hrs of flight. Don't they have any compassion? You would think that they would stand behind these Marines and do what was right. It seems to me that all they want is time off to party and shop etc. What selfish *******$.

OMG!!! Everytime I read your posts here lately the first thought I have is "She can't take anymore". I'm praying that this is soon over and done with. You know you can come on here and rant, moan, scream, whine and whatever else it takes to get through this.

This forum is truly an on-line family and when one hurts - we all hurt. Hang in there.

Darcie, I am folding you in my arms.  Do you feel it!!

I KNOW things happen.  Parts fail.  They do what they have to do to fix it.  But, I am sorry, it is starting to sound like SOMEONE has a SOMETHING against your hubby's group of men.  Is this the same flight crew that they started out with from Africa?  There has to be another agenda here somewhere.

I am praying.  I am doing a special witchcraft ritual (do you have NAMES of the flight crew? HEHE).  I am working on a magic spell (I've read all the Harry Potter books).

Now you do your part.  KEEP IT TOGETHER!!!  Breath deep.  Take another valium before you go to bed.  He WILL get home!

Come here and vent, cry, scream, anything you have to do.  We all feel your pain.  We're all thinking of you.  We are all waiting to hear the outcome of this!

Darcie,  I wish I still had some pull in high places.  DH has been retired for 13 years and everyone I knew in high places has retired also!!  I cannot think of one string I can pull right now. DAMN!!!!  I wish I could help.

Hang in there!! Let's all be thankful that he is a little bit closer!

I'm so very sorry for all of this stress and strain on you and the guys. I look foward to hearing that he's actually landed and is in your loving arms soon. .... Or no posts for a while... and I'll know that he's here and you two are 'honeymooning' ;-)
