Darcie hon, hang in there. And your NOT whinning, your venting constructively, with people who care and understand. The military is a frustrating machine that we can't predict or control, so all that leaves is to vent, so have at it!

I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers ( and some painful lesions for the flight crew who thinks they are entitled to 16 more hours rest time).

 When the plan hits the tarmac go kiss your hubby then go kick some fly boy ass girl. I would be calling the friggin white house about this matter myself if I were in your shoes. My base commander would be cussing up a blue streak at the air force for all sorts of things. Time would spin in reverse. I would have real horns bulging from my forehead. There would be neon signs with a great big Finger pointed to the sky so when the fly boys flew over they would get the message and your hubby would be telling his comrades in arms. OH hell yeah she is pissed about it. " hey pilot I hope your defensive skills are good cause my wife is gonna whip your ass all over this plane. " Then they would be in good humor since they knew you could go up there and do just that. The base commander would put you up for a civilian medal, treat yall to a big dinner at which ever club yall go to, and give your man a month of shore leave just to make up for the air forces blunders. When you call the CO tell him you want the air force billed for every minute they took away from your time. You want hazzardous wife duty pay since you're about to behead all the neighbors while awaiting your DH. Hell Darcie make a good case and get rich off of it. At least your trip to Italy will be a breeze. 
For all its worth I know in the end you will be ok once yall get hooked up again.
