OT- laid off yesterday

Well, I joined the ranks of the unemployed yesterday along  with 50 others that I worked with. I always wanted to be a "stay at home wife" but by choice. All I did was lay on the couch when I got home and sulked. Hubby hasn't worked since November and I was the carrier of the Health Insurance. Cobra is almost $1200 a month for the family plan. I was told by the HR person that Obama was proposing that COBRA insurance be Government subsidized by 65%, which would make it possible for us to do, at least for my and my husband. My step son and stepdaughter can go onto their mother's insurance. It's time for her to step up and act like a parent anyway. I've been carrying the kids under my plan for 9 years since my hubby worked for himself.

Well, I am going to the gym now! At least I still have that membership for a little longer~!
Thanks for letting me vent!

I see so many on here and the other forums going through this and I am waiting for it to happen in my home too. DH works for a company that is struggling and they have already begun the laying off. My part time job won't sustain us but at least he will get unemplyment if NC doesn't run out of money to pay it. This has to get better soon.

Go to that Gym while you still can.
I know working out helps me in so many ways like dealing with stress and depression.
I hope something good will come out of this for you.
Times are so hard right now.
I told DH I remember when if you made 30k a year that was good money now it just isnt enough.
A little something I tell myself while working out is I have to keep doing this because it will make me stronger in all ways.

I'm so sorry to hear of your job loss. We are struggling with the same issue and I truly understand.

Wishing you all the best as you look for a new job.
