Has it really been six months today?

It has...6 months ago today I was just coming out of the recovery room...It's been a wonderful 6 months with so many changes.  I am down 98 lbs. since 2 weeks before my surgery.  I weighed 161 lbs. today, so I'm only 14 lbs. from my goal.
I've gone from a size 22-24 to a size 10 at Old Navy yesterday, from a size 2X in tops to a medium at Dress Barn today...I've been shopping a lot lately!!!
I've never felt better...All my bloodwork came back perfect...my cholesterol is now 98.  I feel like I've never had asthma in my life...Previous to my surgery I was on 2 inhalers and 3 medications through a nebulizer machine each day.
I generally eat normally...When I say normally, I don't mean what I normally ate before surgery.  I eat exactly what my family eats each day, but I meausure my 3-4 oz. and never go over that.
I could do A LOT better in the exercise and vitamine department, but I'm trying.  I know I need to try harder so I'll be getting on my treadmill in few moments.
My only complaint?  MY HAIR!!!  It's really thinning out, and although the shedding has slowed my hair is dry and if I pull a hair out (like a gray one...LOL) there's almost no root to it!!!  I hear some people say it doesn't make any difference to take biotin or use those expensive shampoos so I'm not sure what to day.
I just wanted to thank all of you for sharing all of your experiences and sharing in my own joy throughout my journey!!!!
I'm going to try to post my 6 month picture.

Michelle,

You must be about the same height/build that I am because of your weight/size... I wore a 10 at 161 too. Don't buy too many clothes, because I wear a 4/6 now and since you are only 6 months out, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you follow in my footsteps.

When I was losing my hair I talked to the Nut and the RNP about it and they both said that their are no studies showing any efficacy related to biotin or the fancy shampoos, but that if you want to do it, it won't hurt. They also said that hair grows in 3 month cycles and that's part of why we tend to see the loss/growth patterns that tend to start around 3 months and slow or stop around 6 months. Hang in there. I know it's daunting, but I promise it really does stop falling out soon and then it grows in beautifully.

Wishing you continued success my friend,

Barbara

Congrats on your 6 months and 98 lbs. I'm in the same boat with the hair falling out and I've got the Biotin and shampoo and can't tell it's helped at all. I just went and got mine cut and colored and it makes me feel better about myself.

WOW!
You've done an amazing job. Keep up the great work. Those last 14 lbs will fall right off.
