I'm in the Richlands area too...  I had my WLS by the wonderful Dr. MacDonald (Southern Surgical) and the surgery was at Pitt also (but 6 years ago)...  I wish you the best!  We have a great supportive group of people here!  Keep us posted!

Hi Becky,  Welcome to the NC Board.  I am in Eastern NC, but down almost in SC!!!  17 miles to SC state line.  I am going to make the meeting in Jacksonville one of these days!!

Hi Becky.  I am in New Bern.  I had my RNY on 1/12/09 at Pitt with Dr. Naziri from Southern Surgical.  He is wonderful.  Pitt treated me really good.  Everyone was
so nice and helpful.  Good luck and keep positive.

Hi Becky, Welcome to the NC board. I am in eastern NC in Roanoke Rapids, like 5-10 minuted form the NC-VA borer. When I first started my gastric bypass appointments, I was seeing Dr. Chapman and then I saw Dr. Pender. Well, some person issues came up so I switched to The Nash Surgical Weight Loss Center in Rocky Mount. Now my surgeon is Dr. Mann (I Love Him!!!!).
Anyways, I jsut wanted to welcome you to the board and let you know, even though I haven't had the surgery yet, I am here for you if you need to talk or anything. Oh, DH I think means Dear Husband...lol...Not sure but I am thinking that is what it means....Ok take care and Good Luck with the surgery.....

P.S. Even though I go to Rocky Mount to see my surgeon, my surgery will take place at Pitt Memorial.....:)

Good Luck on your upcoming surgery.  Dr. Pender did my RNY on 1-14-2009 at Pitt.  They will take good care of  you there.  Hang in there on the optifast, it's not fun but the benefits are worth the suffering.
