Long time no post.

Well it has been awhile since I last posted, well anything about me and my progress. I am now a few days past 11 months post-op and I have kissed 191 lbs good bye. I took my measurements yesterday and found that my thigh is only 2" from what my calf was when I started. WOW. Crazy! I have a hernia that pokes out pretty bad from a gall bladder surgery 3 years ago. It has been giving my right much problems as of late. I wonder sometimes if it is because everything is getting compacted in there. It has been very painful and I have been in talks with my doctor. Soooooooo on Feb 10 I will go back under the knife. Dr.Miles is going to repair the hernia and do a panni ... whatever it's called. I am paying for the panni thing but I think it is a small price to pay to make sure  the hernia repairs the right way. I am a little nervous about being cut from side to side but I guess people survive this daily so I will make it. Anyways I celebrate my 35th(omg I am 1/2 way to 70) birthday this coming Sunday(Feb 1). I have had to share my birthday with the Superbowl I don't know how many times. But anyways I like to think of it as everyone celebrating with me LOL. Life has been decent as of late. I am really happy most days with the amount of weight I have lost. I assume we all will always have issues with some part of our body and right now mine is my legs and the skin.. not appealing at all. I went with Cindy to Mrytle Beach on Saturday and we went to The House of Blues and I really didn't feel that self-conscious about people looking at me. I had a great time and we even had a host that looked as good as ole Corey from Logan's!!

I believe this surgery was the best thing I have ever done. There are days when I struggle but they are getting few and far between. It is amazing and I can't wait to get on the boat this year and it not tilt to one side like it was gonna sink. Thanks for listening.

So glad to hear that things are going well (aside from the hernia) for you. Keep us informed on the hernia surgery. How are the kiddos?

Thanks Iris. Iwill let you know how my surgery goes. I am not looking forward to tubes hanging out of me. I have this fear of my 3 year old pulling one out! The kids are great they really loved the snow last week. Was cool to see a solid white beach.

Hi Melissa,

Happy Birthday!

If you make it to Myrtle Beach again let me know and I will try to meet you all for lunch or supper somewhere.  I am only about 55 minutes from there. We go down often for a show or dinner.  Mostly in the off season.  Hate to go in the summer.

I hope Dr. Miles will get everything taken care of for you and you are feeling better soon.

Have a great B-day!!

Thanks Vera. Yeah our trip to MB was a last minute decision. We were just gonna go to Wal Mart and I said hey let's just go to MB.We were gonna go to the outlets but who knew they closed at 7 during Jan & Feb. I was majorly bummed! But The House of Blues made up for it. It was really cool and they had a free concert. Very good band and lots of eye candy lol!!

Hi Melissa,

Congratulations on the incredible success you've had with your journey. I am sure that you will continue to be successful as you make your way after your hernia/panni surgery. Just think! You'll have a wonderfully flat stomack! What a fabulous birthday present from you to you.

Half way to 70! I'm halfway to 100 and Feb 9th, I move even farther down the road as I roll over another mark on the odometer to 51. I will say that I feel younger today than I did at 35. I may not look younger, but I sure to do feel a lot better.

Wishing you all the best and continued success,

Barbara

Hey Melissa, well you already know that I think you have done a wonderful job on losing the weight and I'm glad that we have became friends and I have someone to hang out with and understands this WLS :). Yeah we had fun at the House of Blues and I'll post those picture's of Mr. Sammy on my profile if anyone wants to look at them. Btw are we doing anything for your real birthday?
