Update on my Hubby

Well we saw our pcm and she did confirm that he did have a cyst on his cerebellum (arachnoid cyst).  She said it was small and was not affecting his sight, that part of the brain affects your motion and movement.  So she said that we just have to watch it and scan in another 6 months or so to make sure it hasnt grown.  So she scheduled an appt with the opthamologist to check to see what is wrong with his eyes.

Today we went and saw the opthamologist.  She noticed that his eyes were not aligning back after he looks close at an object and when he looks far.  See your eyes normally cross when you look at something close but when you look far away they go back to normal.  Well my husbands eyes do not do that.  Then she looked at his optic nerves, both of his optic nerves are swollen in both eyes.  With his nerves being swollen that is caused by to much pressure on his brain and its pushing up against his skull.  She said that is due to most likely the cyst in the back of his brain.

So now we have are going to see a neurosurgeon to see if he needs to have his cyst removed or drained.  So he will most likely have to have brain surgery. Now my husband has never had surgery before ever in his life nor has he been sick, so he doesnt see how major this is.  Im stressing out so much and so worried about him enough for the both of us.    So please continue to pray for him.  Thank you

The good news is this is diagnosed by good docs and they can now formulate a realistic plan of treatment for him. I know its scary for you but it's always better when it is treatable.

((Sweetheart)),

I can hear your concern and worry over his condition. Be sure to gather your questions to ask the neurosurgeon.

I agree with writing down your questions - keep a notepad by the bed because if you're anything like me, my questions tend to come at really strange hours of the night.

We'll all keep praying for him, and for you.  Please keep us all posted.
