 Hi all
I had RNY on Jan 9th and guess what, i get to be so lucky to have the flu/cold this weekend.
I haven't taken anything other then liquid benadryl. That has helped with the sneezing and itchie eyes, but nothing for the body ache. I was wondering if i could just sip on theraflu, to help tonight so I can call my doctor tomorrow.
I have pretty much laid around the tub of warm water to keep the body aches at bay, but man once i get out i start to feel like crap again.
Any suggestions  to what i can take this early out? I did post about being sick last night, but today it was much much worse. Anything will help at this point.
thanks

Im sorry you aren't feeling well.  When I was sick early out I stuck with Tylenol cold products and they have a whole line of products for day and nite time.  Im not sure about theraflu and if we can take it, my doc advised me to stick with the tylenol.  Sorry I couldn't help more, but I hope you start to feel better soon.

I would not take something like Theraflu without first consulting my surgeon.  If Benadryl is helping with the other symptoms, I would take liquid Tylenol for the body aches.  Sorry to say that the best thing to do is just tough it out since you just had surgery.  This too shall pass.

Thank goodness there is a light at the end of this Flu. I woke up this morning with a mild sinus head ache nothing a hot shower didn't fix. I feel much better, i also think i let myself get a little dehydrated.
Feeling much much better this morning. It just before surgery i was so used to taking what ever for a cold now i felt very limited last night and was loosing my mind.
Thanks feeling much better now

At my preop appointment I was given a list of things I could take. This list is also being sent to my physician also.

Theraflu is on the list.

Ask your physician if they have a list of medications that you can take. you may have gotten one when you were being shuffled thru the pre op stuff.
