Getting closer to the sack of corn.

I have been a little tired of staying in that seventies club for the past week or so and finally the scale goddess (thats what I call her) smiled and put me in the Eighties club. I did the getting skinny dance for a second or two then realized I have a whole day of climbing wet rocks against a nice current fishing and that will be a heck of a good calorie burner. As for the sack of corn. I am 53 pounds from goal and I used to buy corn in 50 pound bags. I guess most of us go through the stranger stage with the people we see every day. I ran across a guy the other day that I had not seen since christmas and he did not speak but in a minute or so tapped me on the back and just looked at me and said he did not recognize me. I figured as toad frog as I look I would not be too hard to spot even if I was in a Keith Richards parade. Then as if it was deja vu day a couple of other folks did the same thing. I have a bunch of family coming up in April and it should be fun to get the kodak moments if they do the same double take. Yall have a great weekend and I will try to catch a mess of fish for supper.

Hi Push,

I know that we 'see' changes in ourselves and sometimes we even do a double take, but we still are looking from the inside out and still see 'ourselves'. It's still surprises me sometimes when people don't recognize me. I know that I am smaller, but I still see 'me,' so it surprises me when others don't.

I can really relate to you sack of corn. I buy bags of dog food and one day I was loading some into my cart and loaded the equivilent to my weight loss. It was staggaring to realize I had once carried that load around with me morning, noon and night. Even a 10 lb bag gets tiring after a while, but the 20, 40 and 50 lb bags... UGH.

Congratulations on the bags of corn you have already lost and I look forward to hearing that you've shucked your last bag of corn later this year.

YOU have a way with words!! You REALLY need to write a book! hahaha you are so funny! Congratulations on getting closer to the sack of corn. I have had horses all my life and I weigh things by a sack of horse feed which are also 50 lbs... hard to believe I have lost 2 and a 1/8 sacks of feed. Hope you have a great time fishing!

Hey Push:

You are doing awesome in such a short time from your surgery.  I have 57 more lbs to go and am sure you will get there first.

Have fun fishing and hiking this weekend!

Pam

I just got back from the great land of boulders and rapids. I only caught one lil ol brown trout that needed some more meals before it would be eatible. The water was not only cold but still had ice on the edges. I dont wear thick waders either and my feet were blocks of ice in about two hours. I thawed them out with lunch and like an idiot went back to another creek for more. My main mission today was to test out some rods that I had gotten at the end of the season last year and a couple I had built. Naturally the wind kicked up and throwing a super lightweight fly rod is not going to happen in much wind so I spend a good bit of time untangling leader and cussing under my breath. I was not too far from a friend of mine's house and happened to get a big ol tangle and noticed him looking out the window and just a laughing.. I'll unstring his banjo or maybe borrow it for a day to get him back. Another friend borrrowed one of his banjos years ago and got a call in the middle of the night with this guy wanting it back. Larry wrapped it in a diaper and took it back at 3 a/m. I need to make a movie with all the odd folks I know in this little burg in the world lol..

Congrats my friend...  Before you know it, you'll only be a pound of corn away from your goal.
