7 days to go!!!
Ok, guys, I have only 7 days left until surgery. I'm doing the liquid diet and it was tough in the beginning but has become ok. I decided to eat last night and got a mashed potato bowl from KFC thinking that the potatoes are soft and would be ok. I ate about 1/3 of it and felt terrible the rest of the night. Now, my question is did my stomach shrink that much already from the liquid diet? or was it just that I was not used to eating food and it was a shock to my system? I won't make that mistake again! On my way to the store for more jello right now!!!
I have 4 days to go until surgery. I have not tried to eat anything else except maybe a bite. I have not gone to the bathroom for 3 days now. Is that normal with this diet? Monday I get only water and then Tuesday is the big day. I have knots in my stomach. I wish you the best and stay clear fo drive thrus.
Good for you!! I talked to my preacher's wife tonight in the grocery store and she asked if I was hungry and, really, I'm not. I've gotten to the point now where I'm either used to the rumblings or something. I haven't been to the bathroom since Monday or Tuesday morning so I guess it is normal. Although after eating some "food" last night I thought that would do it...no luck yet. I thought I was supposed to have only clear liquids the day before but nothing was said. The only problemI'm having now is that I can't remember how many shakes I've had. For example, today I had coffee then a shake at 12 then one after school but I don't remember if I had another one during the day. I'm supposed to have 5 and because I typically am more hungry in the afternoon and evening I try to do more then. As for the drive-thrus, we have to make a concerted effort because the closest is 20 miles away! Good luck on Tuesday. I'll be thinking about you.
My little indulgence was cheese and crackers or just cheese when I was on the liquid diet. I never had indigestion though. If you get tired of the sweetness of the shakes, which does get old, they told me I could have some broth. That was a nice change of pace from the shakes, but don't make the broth your meal. It doesn't have enough protein and vitamins to replace a meal.
I'm so excited for you! I have your surgery date on my calendar, by the way. I don't want to forget to come see you the day after.
