Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone quite yet but..........

My scale is lieing to me big time! I got on it this morning and it said 198. Just to be sure I got back on and it said 201.5. Naturally I did it again 198 and then again 200. I just don't trust this 9+ year old digital scale at all. But I have a solution. We are going to Costco and in my purse is a coupon for some number of dollars off on a WW scale digital type and we are going to buy it. Maybe my scale has just gotten tired of being abused by this formally morbidly obese woman (topped out at around 320 pounds) and is confused by not having to hold so much weight up anymore and can't get itself to calibrate right anymore. Or maybe it needs a new battery. We have not figured out where to install a new battery and believe me we have been looking. I think we have to send it into the factory to have the battery changed so a new scale it is today. Then I will have to accept whatever this scale says and go from there. Wish me luck.

Congratulations... You are entering the wonderful world of onederland.... maybe today, maybe tomorrow, but you are at the doorway.

My new scale seems more accurate. With all clothes on I weighed on the old scale at 203.5. On the new scale I weighed 213.9. I suspect thats what the doc's office scale would have read no shoes but all clothes on. I stepped on the old one again for fun and it then read 205 with no difference in what I have on. Of course I would never count the weight at the end of a busy day with my clothes on as being the real weight. I weigh nekkid first thing in the morning and thats what I consider my offical weight. anything else is manipulation or what not. So I will compare tomorrow morning and see what happens and then retire the old scale for good. As for my siggy line I will just keep it to where it is until I get below that on my new scale. Onederland is coming but not as soon as I had hoped. I am okay with it. It would not be official in my mind unless the doc's office scale said it anyway and I still have nothing to be worried about I still have lost over a hundred pounds since the end of 2006. Who can be upset about that?

hello....good for you. I am having the same exact problem.....LOL...sounds funny calling it a problem but anyway...my digital scales read the same thing......198...201....200.... I cant figure the battery thing out either....I was 259 pre-op.....well I just thought I would share...GOOD LUCK

Your scale must be related to mine! it does that up and down with the lbs and I hate it!! Congrats on your entering Onederland!! That is Onderful news!!!

Woohoo!  Congratulations and good luck, Ann!  My scale said 199 1/2 this morning, but like you, I"m hesitant to claim it.  At my 6 mo check up this morning, their (evil) scale said 204, but that's with jeans and sweater....I prefer my scale, buck nekkid! LOL!

Anyway you slice it, you've done an amazing job at only 4 months out!  Congrats!

Oh heck, claim it, Ann!    Once the scale tells me something once, IT'S ALL MINE!!!!  lol 

Hope you find a one today that isn't so crazy...I have one of those too and it drives me bonkers. 

I'm with Lisa and prefer mine buck nekkid in the morning though compared to anything else, regardless of it's issues!
