3 things that might surprise you
Shauna started a thread similar to this a couple of months ago and it was really interesting to find out so many things about the friends that we've made here. We said that we wanted to do it periodically so that we could continue to get to know one another, so here goes.
3 Things that might surprise you about me...

2. In a former life, I was a writer.
3. I won awards for gift basket design and the baskets appeared in a trade magazine.
So... tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.

hmmmmm.....#2 & #3 make me think that I have difficulty staying on task and completing things that I've started.

3 Things that might surprise you about me...
1. I have a Black Belt in Taekwondo
2. I am a military bratt. My Dad was a career marine.
3. I played the clarinet in high school and college marching band. I continued my love for instrumental music by becoming active in my daughter's high school band (I was once VP of the Band Boosters club and was head chaperone for 3 three years).
1) I had an IQ of 145 in 1st grade (although the many years of coffee abuse and adult day to day grind have slowly ground my IQ into the ground)
2) I went to the International Science and Engineering Fair in high school and took first place. I was awarded my prize by the then Chairman of General Motors and I met several of the Kennedy family members at thsat time.
3) I was my high school class valedictorian and finished with a 4.0. Although the party life in college took its toll and the 4.0 was nowhere to be found. (although I did graduate with a fairly respectable 3.75)
I suppose I'm a bit of a nerd. Of course, to anyone *****ally knows me, thats no surprise.
I am going to dedicate this post today to my dad. Thanks Barbara! I love getting to know everyone better and this was a nice trip down memory lane for me today.
3 Things that might surprise you about me…
1. I was adopted by my dad when I was 3 years old. I’ve been told that when the judge asked me, “Do you want him to be your daddy?" I exclaimed, “But he already IS my daddy!"
2. My dad was crippled by polio shortly after he learned to walk. I grew up looking up to a man that walked on crutches, yet knew no limits.
3. One of my favorite things to do with my dad was to share in his passion of music. Going to record conventions, organizing his huge collection, dragging out his drum set the moment my mom would leave the house. I still regularly jam to Cat Stevens and think of him!
2. I was a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy and later a Radio Operator in the California Air National Guard.
3. I once went on a couple of dates with John Lithgow before he made it big in the movies.

2. I coach cheerleading to a K-2nd grade squad (that includes my twin girls).
3. I was a Y2K subject matter expert in Grand Rapids, MI - leading me to appear in a series of news stories on the local news regarding Y2K and what it meant to individuals and businesses.
