2 Month Surgiversary! (also update on labs & hernia)
And for your hair.. I have naturally curly hair and LIVE by my flat iron. I usually just do a quick blow dry and then use the flat iron to quickly smooth it out. :) I like yours curly too.. it looks good both ways. :)
Our oldest daughter also lives by her flat-iron and our younger daughter has one she uses occasionally. Her and my hair are so fine, it damages easily and it also goes curly after flat-ironed so she doesn't waste the time most days!
I bought a round brush with a metal barrel like the hairdresser used but I think I got it a bit too small. I'm going to go back and grab one a bit larger. When I do, I'm also going to grab some of the John Frieda Frizz Ease serum and see if I can get it to dry a bit smoother like he did.
I'm glad you like it curly...I may not end up with a choice! BTW, I LOVE your hair. Very classy!
((((Shauna)))),
There definitely is a difference and while I understand that you cannot 'see' it now, believe me when you look back on it a year or so from now, you will be able to 'see' it. I speak from personal experience on that one. I think we are our own harshest critics.
Check with your hair dresser and ask him what type of product he used on your hair. That can make a world of difference so that when you blow it out, it doesn't 'blow up.' Those of us with thick wavy or curly hair have to fight the beast, but once it's tamed, it can be pretty terrific. Either way, I love your new haircut and hope you will love soon too.
I'm glad to hear that your labs came back looking so goo and that you were able to address your concerns about the hernia. As you said, I hope that you can hold out until you get closer to where you want to be so that they can nip and tuck a bit while their taking care of the bothersome hernia.
Hang in there my friend,

My hairdresser used a serum but you know, he had pulled and pulled on my hair for close to 40 minutes while cutting it and it was almost dry when he used the brush/blow dryer on it. I can't pull on mine for 40 minutes before drying so I don't think it will turn out exactly the same! I'm willing to continue to experiment with it though. I really like it short! I'm known to pull my hair back a lot and now I don't have to!
I'm super, super hoping I can hold out for a bit of a nip and tuck during the possible hernia repair too! I just coughed earlier and happened to look down...it was like a scene from Alien! I thought some creature was going to come popping out of my abdomen!
Hope you are continuing to hang in there as well. I think of you often!
Shauna,
I am looking forward to your ability to see what we see when you look back. I must admit that there were months when I would take photos and not see much of a difference either.
I know what you mean about having the hairdresser handle your hair while cutting it and then blowing it out, but I have to say that I've found that the serums go a LONG way to taming the mane. My daughter's hair is wavy like mine and she's decided to wear it straightened in a bob and I doubt that she could do it without the serums.
Thanks for thinking of me... I think of you often too.
