Well, I just got dragged from bed by the world's most excited five year old.  I wish I could say that the dog and I were as excited by the snow as the little one.  Its 5:00 am!!!!!  Not to mention... its cold!!!!  The plus is that I will get tons of exercise today helping the world's most excited five year old make a snow man.

Hope everyone has a blast with the snow,
Christy

Ugh, I hate snow! Growing up in southwestern PA, I've had my fill of it! I remember the days of shoveling the driveway with my dad for hours at a time! Hoping to God that my dad didn't have a heart attack while out there!!! I much prefer 70 degree and sunny days!

Hi Christy,

I look forward to photos of you and your 5 year old enjoying this unusual 'treat.' I am from the San Francisco Bay Area and we don't get snow, so when we moved here my daughter was just delighted that we had some fall. We started doing mother/daughter snow walks whenever it would snow and I was just thinking I'll have to see what I have to wear that will be warm enough. I'm really looking foward to enjoying the snow with her now that I can move about better.

My daughter is now a freshman in high school and I had really wanted her to be here to witness the inauguration, but she has finals this week and was going to have to miss it. Because of the snow, she's home and we'll watch it together, then this afternoon we'll go out for our snow walk and maybe toss a few snowballs.

Have a great day and be sure to have some hot cocoa ready to warm up when you come back in.

I had my fill of snow while I was in Seattle. My husband and I went up there to see his family for Christmas and ended up landing during the worst snow storm they've had in 25 years.  IN which case, it didn't stop snowing and we were stranded in our hotel for the first 4 days.
LOL  Normally I'm all about snow, but I think that one got my fill in of it this year.

The one benefit is that I'm working from home.  I don't have to burn a vacation day taking off work, but work will be so light that I might as well not be working.  I'm ok with days like this.

Turn on Netflix on my husbands computer and watch something while I wait for work to come in on my PC lol

Christy,
Although my 5 year old (will be 6 tomorrow!) woke up a little later she had to go wake up her 9 yr old sister and they are now outside.  I love to look at the snow but am not a fan of being out there in it. I HATE being cold.  Enjoy!!!

I know what you mean! I think my 10 year old stayed up all night! He finally couldn't stand it anymore and woke me up at 3:00 a.m. I did finally get him to go to sleep about 6 this morning and we are about to get dressed and go outside now. I am not complaining though. I absolutely love it and had I been the one awake I would have woken him up at 3:00 a.m....lol. I hope you two have fun! I know I will if Austin (my son)has anything to do with it.

Oh I just LOVE it!  I grew up in Wisconsin and shoveled it, played in it, walked to school in it, etc.  The very best thing about the snow is that it makes everything look so fresh and clean.  Until it stops and then gets slushy and yucky, but a fresh snow is one of my favorite things!

I'm loving the view out of my hospital room window, it really is beautiful.  I don't think Durham is getting as much as originally planned, but Ryan sent me pictures from home, and it looks like they have 4 or 5 inches - crazy!  I just know my dogs are loving it.  I love how they turn into puppies when they get out in the cold stuff!  :)  Wish I could be there to see it.

Plus, Ryan didn't have to work because of the snow, so he's coming up here for an extra visit!  It's like a snow bonus!  :)  Yippee!

Someone build a good snowman with their kids for me!

Enjoy your virtual snow day! I'll give you a call about a visit on another day later in the week.

Hugs,

Barb

P.S. Sarah and I already went out for our walk in the snow... Later, we will probably see about taking the sled out to take a trip down the hill in the front yard. I'll be thinking of you!

I love it too! Brings back so many wonderful memories for me. Hot Chocolate and Snow Cream with Hersheys chocolate syrup!  YUM!!
With 7 kids in my family, you can imagine the sledding and snow balls fights we had. We used to have great snows here in Charlotte when I was growing up.
We had enough last night to close our schools but not enough to stay home from work

Hope everyone has a great day!

I love it - but at the same time I'm hating it because I still had to work today. It's not snowing at all where I work so the powers that be have decided we should be open. Doesn't matter that we'll have to drive home in the dark and the part of the county where I live has several inches of snow. Dang!!! At least my kids are having fun.
