First off, let me say that all the posts give me hope and guidance. This week has been hard and today is especially hard for me. This past Monday morning, my partner and love of my life passed away from a massive heart attack. He died in my arms. We had been together for almost 2 years and he had been my rock thru all my recent health issues. I have been undergoing chemo therapy since Sept. for recurring endometrial cancer which had spread to other organs. He was my support person, my cheerleader, my friend and most important of all... my love. Tomorrow will be the funeral.. I have been holding together ok so far this week but today isn't going well... beginning to feel the glue come undone... I am praying that the Lord will give me the strength to make it thru and I know that my love is watching over me and sending me strength and love.... Thank you all for allowing me to vent a little... We in the wls family are sooo very lucky to have friends who care and are willing to listen even when we have never met face to face....

God Bless each one of you... Nelle

Oh Nelle:
I am SO SO sorry for your loss. I can imagine that times will be very tough, but you do have a great group of people that will certainly help you through and all. I know nothing can replace the love of your life. It brings to light how fragile life is. I am sorry that during the midst of the cancer you had this loss, but please try and think positive and never give up hope. I know how important attitude can be in healing and all. You can beat this cancer but your attitude needs to be focused on happy times and not sad ones. I know that can be hard when you will be hurting both emotionally and sometimes physically. Best of luck. I will be saying prayers for you. What was your fellow's name?

Lisa

Thank you soo much Lisa... His name was Brention but he liked to be called Brent... I will miss him sooo very much but I know that he is still willing me to keep fighting and to keep going strong... and I find peace and comfort in knowing that he was right and his soul was firmly anchored in the Lord.. so I know he is singing his heart out in heaven today... he loved to sing.. and his singing blessed others who heard him...

Again, thank you... Nelle

Sweetie - I'm so sorry that you're having to go thru all of this. Please know that you are never alone and that I'm only a PM away. I've been where you're at and offer you the hope that things do get better eventually. This is your darkest hour and I'm very proud that you've reached out to us. Like Lisa said - try and focus on those happy moments. You need all the positive energy coming your way that you can get.

My heart goes out and my prayers go up. Take time to heal and please talk to someone if you feel that it might be helpful. Counseling, whether it is through a psychologist, phsyciatrist, therapist, counselor or minister can be beneficial. Be a little selfish and do what you must to keep healthy, mentally and physically.

Dearest Nelle,

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss and your struggle with cancer. I know that the grief surrounding your loss must be nearly unbearable, but I'm sure that with time the sweetness of the memories of your dear Brent will ease the pain of your loss. I am sure that your dear Brent is now watching over you and hope that you will be able to feel his presence as work to overcome the cancer.

Keeping you in thought and prayer,

Barbara

My heart goes out to you for the loss of your beloved husband and my hopes are with you in regards to your battle with cancer.

The most difficult thing but an essential one
Is to love Life,
to love it even while one suffers,
because Life is All.
Life is God --
and to love Life means to love God.
