Protein in Coffee
You can get away with it if you don't have the coffee too hot. If it or anything else you add protien powder to is too hot, it gums up. If the coffee is fairly warm, but not HOT, it should work okay. You might also want to consider adding a sugar free flavor syrup as well to help mask the taste of the protien powder, because even the unflavored versions do have some flavor.
Good luck!

I use Nectar unflavored and also flavored proteins and I like them in my coffee. The Nectar brand has no smell, not taste and no after taste. Just be careful how you mix them with hot liquids or they may curdle or clump. I got my mixing method from Linda (can't remember if she's on this board or another one I visit) - use a hand blender (I have a Braun) - you can use coffee directly from the coffee maker if you blend the coffee, protein and any syrups, etc. you want. The protein powder completely dissolves - no lumps, no clumps.

I use any whey that I get from GNC. It mixes well with coffee when you use your hand blender with the whisk attachment. then I add sugaree syrup or creamer in a flavor to make a really good cup of coffee with some good nutrtion.
Any Whey does not have any taste. I also add it to soup.

I put chocolate protein powder in my coffee. I have found that putting the coffee in the cup first then whisking the powder in works good. My coffee is hot but it doesn't turn out lumpy when I do the coffee first! Sounds crazy but it works. I have only used one protein powder since surgery so it could be the protein I use is not as lumpy! In my coffee is the only way I can stand it.
