Gastric Bypass Support Group - Clayton Area

Does anyone know of a support group in the Clayton, NC area or would they be willing to help start one.  I had my surgery in Durham at the Duke Weight Loss Clinic and they have a support group that I go to once every 3 months now, but I would like something more often.  I am 2 weeks post op and would love to talk to others that are thinking about surgery, or that are the same time as me or more.  Email me if anyone would like to help.  [email protected]

Welcome to the group and congratulations on your surgery. I had my surgery with Dr. DeMaria through DukeWLS at DRH in June 2007. Like you, I needed to attend support group meetings more often, so I started a support group which meets in Raleigh on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Those two places are not near me at all.  Duke is closer, to just go to theirs.  I will keep looking and see if I can find one.  Thanks for your reply.

We do have others that live in your area that attend the group in Raleigh, but I can appreciate that it is farther than you want to travel and I hope that you will find a support group that is closer to you and that works for you. In the meantime, please feel free to join us either at the support group at DRH or the one that I hold in Raleigh.

There is a support group in Waynesville that is every 2 or 3 months. It is a satellite support group thru Dr. Champions office that is in Atlanta. I know that they had one in November or December. It was posted on the NC forum.  Also Mission has one every month.
