Bad news!
I'm a bit sad today...My husband lost his job not long ago and now we have come to the realization that we will need to return to Dallas, TX in order to support our family.
My husband has been offered his old job back (he was with the company for 20 years) with a substantial raise from what he's making even here. The only reason we moved east a couple of years ago was because I wanted to be closer to my family in NY. I guess we'll be leasing out our house. My husband will return to TX 2/1, but the kids and I have to stay here until I finish teaching in June.
I know I should be happy that he has a job to go to, but I love NC and I'm just so sad. I lived in TX for 3 years and hated every minute of it. I'm hoping it was just because I was fat and miserable with myself...I'm going to try to go into this with an open mind, but it doesn't take the sadness away. I'll miss my job, my home, the convenience of seeing my family often, my surgeon, my son's school....Has anyone started all over after their surgery? I'm not sure that making all these life changing moves is good for me at this stage of my weight loss journey, but I guess I gotta give it a try.

Too blessed to be stressed!

If I had to move back to that area, I would move into the Stonebridge Ranch subdivision in McKinney, TX. Great pools, schools and community. http://www.stonebridgeranch.com/
Hope it all works out well.
I'm so sorry that you are having to go through these stressful changes, but I'm so glad that you are blessed with a new healthy body, a husband who loves and supports you, and the stability of a job.
Please know that you are stronger and healthier now than you were before. I transplanted from CA and while I have made this my home, I have to say that if moving back were an option, I'd do it in a heartbeat ... I guess, I'm trying to say that I understand your heartache. I also understand that we can make it and that we are stronger than we know.
I also hope that you know that you will always be welcome here, no matter where you are living. I hope that you will stay in touch as you make this transition.
Hugs,
Barbara

The only advice I can give you which I really wish I knew before I moved to NC, and I'm just now figuring it out.
Before you make the final move:
Call you surgeon-get all of your records released to you, not forwarded to another Dr in Texas. This way if you ever need them, you don't have to wait until your Dr calls the prior Dr. (I'm going through ths now and my Drs tell me how much easier it would be if I have my records in hand).
Ask around-especially your Dr---Who do they recommend for you to follow up with in Tx? A Doctors recommendation means the world, even if it's only used in case of emergency.
I wish you the best in your transition time. Just keep your head up and smile.

Good Luck in Texas!
At least you are going somewhere familiar, and there will be a job waiting.
I agree about getting your medical records. And getting a doctor lined up as soon as possible, in TX, just in case.
Another consideration. Be sure your new insurance will cover any problems you may have. They may consider this a 'pre-existing' condition. They may have a weight loss surgery exclusion which would also mean follow up pertaining to previous WLS.
Good luck with your new life. Let us know how things progress.
