SF popsicle question

Hi All,
I am having surgery on Wednesday (Jan. 14th) and even though my surgeon only prescribed me to be on the liquid diet 2 days prior to surgery, I've already gone ahead and started it yesterday. Yesterday I just did the Atkins shakes and water, but today I sent DH to the grocery store for SF jello, broth, SF popsicles. For SF popsicles he bought Edy's fruit bars. The have 0 g of fat, 1g of sugar, 2g of sugar alcohol, 8g of carbs, 30 calories, the package says made with real fruit, made with splenda. My question is, are these okay for me to eat now and more importantly after surgery? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

The sugar it has are probably the natural sugars from the fruit.   I had them about a month after surgery and didn't have any problems, but really think it depends on the person.

Good luck and my prayers are with you,

Pam

Hi Heather,

Welcome to the board! The popcicles that he got for you sound like they will be just perfect. He did a great job of selecting something with a low sugar and carb count. I'm sure that they will make the 'liquid' part of your journey a little easier. It's great that you have such wonderful support at home.

Wishing you all the best in your journey,

Barbara

 Hi Heather,

I agree that the sugar in these popsicles is related to the fruit used to make them.  I personally love these things...they're a staple in my freezer at home.  Enjoy and good luck!!!

Thanks Barb & Deb. The box does say no added sugar and made from real fruit. DH was pretty proud of himself that he made a good choice, especially considering that I didn't give him anything to go on except to get "sugar free popsicles." I tell people all the time (especially at work, where we all talk about our DHs) that I am so lucky that I got such a great guy!! He really is awesome. He supports everything I do and helps me out without complaining all the time. He help clean, he helps give the little one a bath sometimes, he cooks, etc. He even dressed up as Clifford the Big Red Dog for my book fair at school last year. He's awesome, but the best thing is, he feels the same way about me. He thinks I'm awesome and he always tells me how lucky he is to have me!! We've been married for almost 7 years and dated for 2 before that. Okay, enough braggin'. Thanks again for your great advice!!
Heather

P.S. Deb, I'm so glad you've still got that little one tucked inside. You, DH, and baby are in our thoughts and prayers!!
