Hey North Carolina,  I did it, had surgery Monday home Wed's and I doing pretty good except for one thing.  My back is about to kill me.  Its about where the kidneys are and it hurts constant.  I'm trying to walk in hopes that would work it out and I also have taken otc pain relief to no relief.  Any suggestions?

Thanks
Sharon

Did your doc not send you home with any pain meds?  I find that odd if they did not.  I remember being sore all over for the first few days.  Walking does help, but you have to just tolerate some of the pain.  I would watch that for a day or so and call my doctor if it did not subside.

Congrats on your surgery.

Hi Sharon,

Welcome to the Loser's Bench. I'm delighted to hear that you came through your surgery well and look forward to your smooth and gentle recovery.

It sounds like you might be experiencing gas pains... I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes you can feel it in the shoulders or the back and unfortnately pain meds don't seem to help a great deal. However, walking seems to help losen things up and get the gas moving.

Wishing you continued success and gentle comfort as you recover,

Barbara
