Insurance.

Has anyone had trouble getting new insurance after your surgery?  I have to get off of my ex's insurance and did an online app to BCBS and was denied.  What's up with that?

I don't know the exact reason for being denied yet.  BCBS is sending me a letter.  However I tried to apply with Humana just a little while ago and was denied there too.  But they did not ask about WLS anywhere so I'm thinking I'm being denied because of my BMI.  BCBS told me that if I am uninsurable that I can get coverage from the state, I just have to figure out how to do that.  If I'm right than once I lose my weight I should be able to get coverage.

Kind of scary to not have insurance.

For some reason you have become a high risk after having surgery (for what...I'm not sure) I tried to change insurance companies to get a lower rate and nobody would touch me. I believe they can check medical and prescription records before approving your coverage. Gastric bypass seems to carry many complications that the insurance company has to pay for after. Good luck with your search...but I'm afraid there will be nothing out there for you to change to.

IS anyone familiar with RESERVE NATIONAL Insurance?? i have them for a Medicare Supplement Plan C- Will they pay the 20% of cost for Gastric Bypass, that Medicare doesn't pay?? Is anyone familiar with them?
