Forgive me, OH, for I have sinned......

OK, I'm the goody-two shoes type who never got in trouble in school, who followed all the rules, etc.  WLS has been no different.  I religiously get MORE than my minimum protein daily, drink all my water, take all vites and supplements daily, never missing even ONE!  I eat the right things, and have never cheated except maybe to take a "taste" of something...it being a tiny taste!

I was slack at first in the exercise dept,. but for over a month now, I have been exercising 5 days a week from 30 min to an hour.

All this, I've been so good, and have only lost 2 pounds since THANKSGIVING!!!  Almost TWO freakin' months!  I know all about stalls, etc...but TWO MONTHS???  Some nights I would throw myself into my workout so hard that I could visualize my body pulling the numbers on the scale down by sheer force!

Plus, since exercising regularly, my appetite has returned, and I'm HUNGRY!  Today , like Ferris Beuller (I think it was him or probably Tom Cruise in Risky Business)  was one of those days where you just gotta say "WTF...", and I ATE.  When I was hungry I ate.  I didn't eat a cheesecake or even anything sweet except fruit, but I did indulge in some carbs with my protein, and ate a whole lot more than I usually do.  I shudder to think of the calories I ingested today.

I guess I just got tired of being hungry and suffering the pain of exercising without any lovin' from Mama Scale.  So there. I did it.  My first "real" cheat.  I know I have to start over tomorrow.  I even did 40 minutes of Wii Fit when I got home tonight.  I will not slip into bad habits that carry over to tomorrow.

But if this stall does not break soon, my poor body may end up in the hospital from rage-induced workouts!

I have my 6 month appt with the surgeon in 2 weeks, and if I have to go in there having lost less than 10 pounds since my last visit, I'll be mortified!

Don't get me wrong. I'm so grateful for the weight I've lost, and my life is lots better, but I am still "obese" and don't wanna be forever....I'm so scared this is the end of the line for me.  I thought I was still in the "honeymoon" period, but I never worked this hard to lose wt. pre WLS!

OK...I put myself out there...feel free to lecture, chastise, cajole, commiserate or comfort me depending on your mood.  After the past couple months, I have rhino's skin....and a butt to match! LOL!

No lectures from me... but I will remind you, gently, that your body will go thru so many changes.  And sometimes to get the metabolism moving again it helps to eat a larger number of calories, then have some low days.  You probably have done nothing wrong with the extra intake today.  May even got your metabolism moving...

Now don't be beating yourself up.. It isn't worth it.  And keep doing the right things it will come off... Look at how successful you have been.  Congratulations !  Pat yourself on the back..

And have you measured??  I bet the inches are falling off and you forgot about them... The scales will go down, be patient.

BTW - I know how you feel.  It seems unfair to work so hard but there are results that you just haven't seen yet.

Huggers...

Awww..Bless your heart :)
My guess is gonna be that after your little WTH eating binge...you are going to break your stall!!!!! Fingers crossed!! Your body probably needed the calorie boost!!! I bet with all your exercise, and eating "perfectly" that you were not eating enough calories and your body needed that little shock!! It is OKAY to eat carbs, carbs give us energy and brain power!! Just make sure the first bite that goes into your mouth is protein!! Your body is probably saying WOOOOHOOOO!!! Change!!! LOL Hang in there, it doesn't sound like you got too off track, let us know what the end result is on the scale! I bet you may be surprised!! Keep up the fantastic work and don't be afraid to switch things up!!!

We discussed this in our support group meeting Monday night.  I bet the weight will start coming off again soon with a bit of calorie boost.  Good Luck and let us know the results!

Good GRIEF WOMAN!  We are not going to lecture you.  LOL  You are not one of my students.  :D  But I agree with the last post.  Sometimes eating MORE calories helps me to lose weight too.

If things do not progress soon I am sure Dr. K will get it all fixed up.  Keep ya head up girl and strut!

(((Lisa))),

No lectures from us... You are already being too hard on yourself. Do you know how many calories you are getting? Sometimes, if you aren't getting enough your body will drop into 'starvation' mode. So be sure that you are getting 800 to 1000 calories a day. Since you've amped up the exercise regimen you may need to boost the calorie intake a bit to get the loss to jump start again. If you haven't done so already, I'd log what you are eating for a few days and also document your activity level. Once you have a roadmap, I'd call the Nut associated with your program and ask them to review what you have been doing and ask for their input.

It will start moving again, just hang in there my friend.

I'm glad you posted this - I'm right behind you and I don't see where the scales have moved this week at all for me. So I too was feeling discouraged. Look how far we've come. I'm amazed at how much our bodies can tolerate. I hate it for you that you didn't lose over the holidays but if you think about it - it beats the heck out of my former holidays when I gained substantial amounts of weight.

Don't beat yourself up. Take those measurements and see what's been happening. Have a great day!!

Good to see you back! You will never get a lecture from me... Im eating Reeses peanut butter cups as we speak!! Instead of focusing on the scale have you measured yourself? Measurements are much better then the scale battle!!! best of luck to you and make sure you are eating enough food!!
