Hi NC People

Hey everyone!  I usually lurk around this board and never post but I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone because between lurking here and reading some of your blogs I feel like I already know some of you!.  My name is Shalonda and I live in the capital city Raleigh.  I had RNY on December 17th with no complications so far.  I have lost about 18 pounds and I am excited about the changes that will come within the next year.  I have been married to a wonderful man, Jay for 10 years and we have two beautiful children (a girl and a boy).  Well, that's pretty much it.  I look forward to communicating with all of you in the future.

I am delighted to meet you and look forward to getting to know you as you make this incredible journey. I had my surgery 19 months ago and my dear husband, Ben just had his a week before you had yours... So, I'm a bit of an old timer and he's a new kid on the block like you.

It sounds like you are already making some amazing progress and I know that there's plenty more to come.

Hi Shalonda!  Welcome.  As a fellow lurker, I can tell you from experience that it is much more fun participating then lurking.  Like you I feel like I know everyone, but the draw back in lurking is no one gets to know you.  Everyone on this board is very supportive and welcoming.  Hope to hear from you soon...............Carrie
