WAHOO I have a tentative surgery date

I am very excited. Today I got a confirmation that my surgery is January 22, 09. I have to be at preop on January 14th at 7:00 am. Now that would not be too bad but I live almost 2 hours away. My dad drove Monday and he made it in 1 hour and 35-40 minutes. I may go down and stay closer the day of pre op.

Not sure about the time for the surgery but atleast I know that it is that day.

Congratulations Tamara.  It won't be long until you join us on the loser's bench.  I know you must be excited!  Before you go into surgery, make sure they are aware of which surgery you are having.  I had my surgery at Rex Hospital in Raleigh and the nurses must have asked me 50 times what procedure I was having and who my doctor was.  I was glad because I've heard stories about people getting the wrong surgery or surgery on the wrong body part.  So just make sure you reiterate that you are having the lapband procedure.

I thought about writing BAND across my stomach. If they did not use iodine wash I would. Will ask the nurse prectioner. Would do my hands but they will actually have to put IV in my hand probable.
