Hello.  I am new to this.  I am considering have weight loss surgery if all goes well.  I have been recommened to Dr. Mitchell in Pinehurst, NC but I have to attend his seminar first.  I was originally suppose to attend tonight but my plans were disrupted and I have to settle for the first part of February now.  I've been overweight my entire life and I am just so tired and my health going down hill and I want to be around for my two beautiful girls and my husband.

Hi! Dr. Mitchell was my first choice but my insurance sent me to Duke. I had RNY on Dec. 10 and feel great! So happy you chose to join us here. Im in Goldston, the other side of Sanford. Let me know if you are interested in coming to the Raleigh Meet Ups-a few of us carpool and we have 1 spot left!

Welcome!!!  Best of luck in making your decision and all the work that goes into approval.  I can only tell you - this is one of the best things I ever did for myself, and I only wish I had done it several years ago.

Welcome to the NC Forum! I look forward to getting to know you as your make your way on this incredible life-changing journey. We have a number of members who have used Dr. Mitchell. I've only heard very positive things about him and his practice.

Please know that we have all been where you are in journey and there is no such thing as a 'stupid' question. We may not have the answers, but often can point you to a resource and/or have an opinion. You will also find that there are several local in person support groups that are held anywhere from monthly to quarterly, so you can actually 'meet' others going through this journey.

I have a virtual support group that you are welcome to join if you would like and of course, this forum is really great for support and information.
