 For those of you that read about my misadventures in the outdoors. I just got back from a hike this afternoon and posted up a few pictures and a not so brief story about it.

 I keep thinking one day my grand children may get to read about their nutty grand paw and maybe get some ideas of adventures for their own.

I love to read your hiking stories. I live in Clyde so some of the places you talk about I know. I recently just found out about Wayah Bald. Never heard of it till recently. I wish I had someone to hike with like you do. I won't hike by myself. When I was going to school at Western Karen Styles was in the same major as me and she died when she went running alone. Sorta scary. I am 36 so that is a concern. I have thought about joining a hiking club but am afraid that I would get my big butt kicked. Hopefully by June/July I will be down 50 to 60 pounds. LAP band surgery is January 22.

 Wayah Bald if not the prettiest place on earth at least in the top 10. We had originally intended to hike from Wayah Bald to the NOC but weather really got us good. I pitty the hikers that we met heading to georgia in the rain today.. I guess they hunkered down in a shelter or something. I dont blame you one bit about not hiking alone. After the stuff that happened in Pisgah last year and down in Georgia it would pay to bring a friend. It took me a while to find someone like Larry that was about as goofy as I am but it sure has been alot of fun roaming the mountains with him around. He is so type A and I am so type F it somehow works.. I cuss him out now and then and he gets the big picture lol..
