Returning a favor

Many months ago our own Deb M and her dad came to my house with bags and bags of clothes Deb could no longer wear after her surgery.
I have met a woman on OH who lives in NC and is preop and I have been going through the closets and dresser and collecting many bags of clothes to give her.
As I look at some of the clothes it brings back lots of memories of how I was feeling when I wore them.
How I feel now as to when I wore many of those clothes I like how I feel now as to how I felt then.
So out with the old and in with the new.

Hi Annie,

Enjoy the new year and the new you as you shed some of those clothes that you no longer need and pass them onto someone else to enjoy for a while.

I did this yesterday myself.  All my life I have held on to my clothes because "I might get into that size again" or, more likely "I probably will gain weight again and need those "fatter" clothes again"... I cannot let myself expect to need "fatter" clothes ever again.  So... yesterday I took 4 big garbage bags full of size 26, 24, 22 jeans, pants, skirts, tees, and sweaters to a friend of mine who can wear some 22s and she will pass the rest on to her sister who had RNY a year ago and is probably down to a 26/24 range now.

It was hard parting with some of my favorite pieces, especially the turquoise suede shirt and my favorite, softest jeans.  But it felt good too.

I will keep some of my bigger tee shirts to sleep in but the rest of my clothes are coming out of the closet, out of the drawers, out of wherever they are - - and leaving me forever.  It's all downhill from here in the best way possible.

 Annie,

I knew you'd be passing clothes on before long, and I'm so glad to hear that you're doing just that!  It is kind of bittersweet to get rid of the pieces you really like, but it's so worth it, because you feel better, you're healthier, and you're helping out someone who's on the same journey you've been on.  :)  Plus, you know this means you just get to go shopping again...I'm sure there's another new favorite just around the corner!  :)
