finally a go for Dr.s appointment on Monday

So I am so ready to have my Dr.s appointment. I have had several delays due to support person. My dad is a truck driver and it is hard to get him home and I really wanted him to be my support person. This time I had a family friend as backup. Just found out in support group that if I had to change support people then I could. Did not know that before.

Sooo my dad came home yesterday. When we get done with doctors appointment we have to go straight home so my dad can get back on the road.

Did I say "I am so ready for the surgery." I have insulin resistence and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which makes it hard to loose. I have chosen the lap band and hope that this will help with the PCOS.

Hope to have a surgery date Monday

I am also waiting to get a surgery date, so I know how excited you must be to finally be right there at that "starting line".  Congrats on getting it all worked out and I can't wait to hear when your day will be.

How did it go with telling your family that you are having the surgery??

What is your next steps toward the surgery. Last time I seen you on the board you were going to start counseling sessions with a counselor and then would be able to go forward with the surgery.

Hey Sheila,

I am seeing Dr. Cox tomorrow. I went with first available. I liked Dr. Cook but know that he is coservative with some of the lap band stuff. Dr. Cox is who I was originally interested in. I am excited. We are leaving at 7:30. Appts at 9:45.

Tamara, it went fine with telling the family.  My Dad was the one I worried about because I never had any idea how he felt on the subject, but he is excited that I am going to be getting healthy.  Since our trip he and his wife have even asked me a couple of times if I have a date yet.  My Mom wasn't exactly supportive, but I am used to that, she also isn't against it so it was the same old same old with her.

I have done everything on my pre-op list, just waiting to find out if there is more.  The holidays have slowed things down and I am beginning to wonder if I will ever find out anything at this rate.  I am trying hard to play the patience game like I know you have been doing also.  Thats why I get so excited whenever I see someone else getting to the point you have.
