6 months out and I am disappointed in myself

I was six months out yesterday and I have lost about 54 pounds since surgery.  I have not been following my eating plan very well.  I got a WII Fit for Christmas and I love it so I will be exercising more but I feel like a failure because I haven't lost more weight.  Any one have any suggestions to help me get back on track and get this weight off for good.  Thanks

Don't beat yourself up; hey, you are 54 pounds lighter than your were this time last year, right?  That is a great starting point for 2009!  A brand new year is a few hours away, get back on the wagon and follow your food plan and use that WII...  you'll lose the weight and feel so much better!

Happy New Year!  Alice

I have to tell you that I was about at the same place you are now when I was six months out and worried that I wouldn't make it to my goal, much less my Dr's goal. I'm happy to say that I've satisfied both and I'm sure that you will too. Just stay with the program. If you aren't sure, then go back to basics. Lead with protein, don't drink before, during or after meals, and get moving. It helps many to log what they are eating so that the can get a handle on the proportions of protein/fat/carbs...When you are trying to lose, it's recommended to keep the ratios to 40/30/30. Be sure you are getting plenty of fluids and try to get moving every day. If you can't commit to 30 mins., try committing to 10 mins a day and go from there. Also try wearing a pedometer and working towards getting to 10K steps a day. Wishing you all the best in the new year with the new you.

You will get back on track.  It is so easy to get off track, but you know what you need to do.  And getting back to the basics - support meetings - posting online.  Well, you know what you need to do.  Because you were able to lose 54 pounds so far doing something right... LOL

Each day is a new day and we don't have to be perfect.  But we do have to remember to be kind to ourselves.  Maybe write down your goals - small doable goals.  More water?  more exercise?  more protein?

You will do fine... Keep in touch

One tip I have to offer is when i fall off the wagon, i start to write in all my food intake to incl protein and calories.   When you are accountable to yourself, it helps get back on track.   I have had to do this a few times over the last 10 months but it is so worth it.  If I catch myself nibbling, the pad of paper comes out again.

Good luck!

I am also 6 months out and feel that I should have lost more by now. I know at times I eat too much of the wrong things and not enough some days of the right things. I don't move as much as I should or probably drink as much as I should but every day is another chance to do better and I am going to try and improve. We have come this far we can keep on.

Don't beat yourself up. We will just make a pact together to do better for ourselves.

with God all things are possible.

Thanks you guys.  I have to go back to the doctor on Monday and I hope they do labs because I just don't feel right.  I am trying to get back on track and exercise more.  Thanks again!
