Today's PCP Visit

It was a 2-hour wait and lil' man was ready to have a nervous breakdown when finally we were seen!  My PCP was astounded when she saw me.  She said I've already made an amazing transformation, that I don't even look the same in the face.  lol  She had me stand up, turn around, and she kept taking double-takes the entire time I'd move or talk.  It was hilarious!

I told her I did very well during surgery and with the recovery afterwards.  I am thrilled with my weight-loss and how all of that is going.  Gosh darnit if I didn't forget to tell her the sciatica is gone...she will be THRILLED to hear that!  (How could I forget?!)

I did tell her about the hypoglycemia and the flood of estrogen and that even though I am not asking for any additional "help" (medicine or otherwise) at the moment, I wanted her to be aware that I'm having a difficult time and will ask for help later if I feel I need it.

She wrote an order for the surgical clinic to run my thyroid and blood sugar levels when they do the other labs at my next follow-up appointment.  Yay on not having to get stuck today!  She also gave me samples of my thyroid medicine and faxed over a new script for that.

I have developed a lump in my neck that is above my thyroid gland to the left side of my Adam's apple (do women call theirs that?!).  It is fairly large (almost golf ball size?) and there is some pain when it's pressed on.  I have to go have an ultrasound done on that and am waiting for radiology to call to schedule me.  Also have to do my 6-month follow-up mammogram here in a few weeks to make sure that last cluster isn't anything.

I have to admit, I'm a little worried and will be anxious to be given the all-clear on both of these issues.  Keep your fingers crossed for me on all levels.  I feel like I'm falling apart just when I'm supposed to be enjoying a newly upcoming ******y bod!  (At least IN CLOTHES!)  lol

I don't blame you for being nervous, but I'm so glad you went to see your PCP today.  That lump by your Adam's apple isn't one of the glands that gets swollen when you have an infection?  or cold?  (forget their name).

Hopefully this will all be taken care of soon and you'll be able to get on with your life.  I'm swinging a chicken for ya,

love,

PP

Lymph?  I don't think so, though I really don't know.  I've had it for quite awhile now.  Probably close to a year.  I just happened to notice it again while washing my neck in the shower before my appointment and wrote down to make sure to talk to her about it this time.  Thanks for swinging a chicken...I'm ready to get on with my life!

Hello PP,
Could I ask a big favor? Could you please swing a few chickens for me too? I am still waiting (2 months now since my last appt)  on my Dr's office to get their stuff  together and send to BCBS for approval and I'm about to go nuts.
If I knew there were some chickings swinging for me,
I think I could be more hopeful.
Thanks so much
Pam

Thanks bunches, Barb!  We all have our crosses to bear, don't we?!  Good news is, it usually gets better than before.  :)  {{{Hugs}}}
