Help Please. Need New Dr -Quick
I am right around the way over in Whittier NC. I cannot say enough about Dr Micheal Williams in Atlanta who did my surgery. Emory Hospital at John's Creek in Upper North Atlanta would be about a four hour drive but well worth the trip. The hospital is a center for excellence. Its only a year or so old and frankly is more like the HIlton Hotel than a hospital. Their Bariatric ward is in my opinion Top notch with a staff that Migrated from Emory Dunwoody when they closed and opened up John's Creek. My wife had a hernia when she went in for her WLS and they repaired it along with the roux n y. One other thing is that Dr. Williams is one of the nicest people in his profession and his staff is extremely positive and work closely with the patients. I think Ashevill will have a CFE sometime this year but the last time I checked there was only one surgeon doing bariatric and they had not recieved acreditaion. Its just a suggestion and I wish you luck. I also here from some other people that there is a doctor in Hickory that is supposed to do great work but I dont have his name.
Ok, my update...
Dr. Bauman's office is not accepting new medicaid, so that's out.
Called Duke - spoke with a great person there - they might see me, but would like me to try and get to the gastro here first. I'll call the gastro Dr after lunch hour (everyone's closed now) to check if I can get in earlier. They're going to call me back.
Also, after lunch, I'm going to call the Drs in Hickory. I tried earlier but my two youngest started screaming so loud I had to hang up (before anyone answered, thankfully). Now, it's nap time, so I'll try again before they wake up.
I'll keep ya'll updated.
