1 Month Surgiversary
Hello friends. Can't believe it's been a month since my surgery already. For those of you patiently waiting your way through the process, believe me when I say that soon you will be sitting here at your one-month surgiversary looking back and thinking, "Wow! It went by fast!" I know that's little consolation now, but it's the truth!
I posted my 1 month weight and inches lost on my profile. I'm about at -28 pounds and -20"! Photos to come later today. :)
For those of you at the early plateau, let me tell ya, it kicked me in the pants emotionally! I pretty much stalled from 12/9 to 12/16 and then chose not to weigh on the 17th and 18th because I just couldn't take the disappointment anymore. The 19th was Friday and my weekly weigh-in day, so I was THRILLED when I finally saw -3.2 pounds on the scale! Since then I've lost about another 3 lbs. Don't fret...if you're following "the rules," give your body time. I KNEW this mentally, but grasping it emotionally has been another story!
I'm still trying to learn to master managing my hypoglycemia, hoping I will "outgrow it" soon. Been battling some depression also, but I think that is finally lifting. I blame the residual anesthesia/pain meds, release of hormones, and the stall. I'm also having a lot of trouble with eating anything with much weight. I do great on soup, yogurt, etc. but oh boy with fish, cottage cheese, etc. Had a horrible spell Friday where I vomited for the first time. I was supposed to start swallowing my multi-vitamin now, but after trouble with that as well, I'm going to stick with chewables awhile longer. Trying to decide if I need to be seen for these issues or if I just need to take it easy and wait it out a bit longer.
Other than that, life is GREAT! Here are a few wow moments I'd like to share: I am walk, walk, walking without being crippled by my sciatica...shopping, going to the gym, etc. {knock on wood!} ~ The sz. 26 jeans I bought from Goodwill 2 weeks ago are already falling off of me. (I've gone from a 30 to needing to buy a 24 soon!) ~ I was busting out of the cups of a 44H bra and am now busting out of the cups of a 44DDD, which can be bought at Wal-Mart and not specialty-ordered! lol ~ Everyone that sees me exclaims that they already notice a difference. That feels sooo good! ~ I'm at a weight now that I haven't seen in over 10 years!
I'm amazed that this new life is just that...a new life. There are a lot of adjustments to make and changes to learn, but it's already been so worth it.
Congratulations to everyone that has been here, done this...and to all of you that are looking forward to sharing your turn!
Happy Holidays to all! {{{Big Hugs!!!}}}
