OT... Long...I have good daughters.......

The last few days have been terribly eventful but my girls have come to the rescue in several days. Yesterday morning I got up and left for my early 6:45 am shift at the Doggy Day care and did not make it to work. My 2001 Ford Focus with 107K miles on it decided to die on the freeway while I was about a third of the way to work. I was able to pull off the road to safety but once the engine was off I could not start it again. On top of that my cell phone was nearly out of juice and of course the car charger wasn't very effective since the problem with the car was electrical in nature. I fortunately have AAA and called them and soon I had a tow to a service center where I had already gotten an estimate knowing that I needed to get a new belt and regulator soon to avoid this situation. But I did not have the money for it quite yet. My youngest daughter got herself up out of bed and drove to the service center to pick me up and take me to work and waited while I finished the last part of my shift and then drove me back home while I waited for my other daughter to wake up (she works the late shift for the police department) and told her what the situation was and she loaned me the money to not only get the immediate problem fixed but to also take care of the other work that needed to be done to make the car safer to drive. It happens to be the only vehicle I have and my DH and I share it for getting to and from our jobs. Schedule conflicts do happen but usually one of the girls will drive me to work or lend me their car when that happens. Now my Police officer daughter has generously given me her car as of tomorrow so that I can get a job without regard to schedule. She is purchasing a new car for herself tomorrow. She had planned on using her car to trade in but she decided to give it to me instead.  My DH has generously decided I should use the DD's car for my transportation as it is the safest one to drive. How did I get such a good family? I know I am bragging a bit but I am so happy that I have raised such wonderful people and that I get to call them my daughters.

Ann,

I think that this is a case of the apples not dropping far from the tree. I truly understand and appreciate where you are coming from. I have had some friends who do not like their children and thought that very sad. I'm delighted that you like and admire your children. What a wonderful thing for you all.
