Probably a strange question/concern

This happened to me when I had my surgery.  They day I was suppose to come home and I woke at 5:00 a.m. and zing bang, I had started.  The worst of this was I had a wonderful male nurse who was fresh out of school and this was a first for him.  I did not have anything with me because I didn't have a room, so he had to go find a pad for me.  This was really embarrsing, but he was so sweet and kind.  Good luck.

I had the same problem, which wasn't a problem, just an inconvenience. Mine started 2 days before my surgery. It was no problem. The surgeons go through it all of the time. They wouldn't let me wear a tampon though. Oh, and I hope you don't go through this, but mine lasted 15 days (I JUST got over it) The nurse said sometimes surgery takes a toll on bodies, and it did mine.

I didnt have this issue but someone in the next room did. When you had your gallbladder out that nurse was a stupid moron to act that way. You will not be able to wear tampons in the OR.. they will put pads under you so you will be *safe* just tell them what is going on and DONT worry!! best of luck to ya!!

I guess I'm with the crowd here.....my pre-op orders EVEN with outpatient lapband was a definate NO NO to tampons...they made sure they made that clear!! Good thing you asked the gals here! (and the men too) "hugs jason!" hehe...

Mine started the morning of my wls. No problem for surgery but it was inconvient.

Thanks for all the reassuring posts. I feel much better, but I sure hope I don't get it for 15 days. I dread going to work when I have it for just a few days. My husband would probably want to move out if I had it for 15 days!!! Anyway, thanks again ladies (and of course, Jason)!!
