PS Consult

I am sorry I haven't posted until now.  I needed some time to process what was said and what i wanted to share.  I liked Dr. Zeri a lot.  He is the second of two plastic surgeons I've seen and I appreciated his obvious knowledge of post WLS care.  He says that I have quite a lot of skin that needs to be removed and seemed fairly optimistic that given all the rashes I've had documented, including the one I had that day, that I have a shot of being approved for skin removal.  He would like to do a circumferential cut, which is all the way around, but was less optimistic that that would be approved.  He took a lot of pictures (NOT FUN) and will submit to insurance.  I will keep you all updated.

We did not go into cost, that will wait until we see what insurance does.  I know what the other doctor quoted for arms and tummy tuck (front only), so I'm interested to see what he comes up with.  Not a lot of detail for now, but I will update when I can.

It sounds like a positive meeting overall.  #1, I'm glad that you liked the Dr and felt confident with his abilities.  That counts for a lot!  I'm sure it was somewhat stressful, not to mention scary to think about going for another voluntary surgery, but what a difference it will make!  Good luck with insurance, hopefully they're level headed about the effects the extra skin has on you and will cover the recommended procedures!  Definitely keep us informed!
