How long does the stall typically last?
Hi Shauna,
As with everything, this can vary, but typically this type of stall normally lasts from about 10 days to 3 weeks. I imagine the dam will break soon and then the waterfall will start soon. Hang in there my friend.
All the best,

Hey Shauna...I'm having the same issue. Glad to see the response. I"ve been fluctuating the same 2-3 for the past week. Looking like I' won't make my goal of 50 lbs lost for the 6 week surgical follow up on Monday but I take comfort in knowing that this is normal! Keep up the good work and like she says, the dam will break soon! I'm holding out hope myself!
I have been experiencing the same thing. I am 4 1/2 weeks out and for the last 8 days have been 1 pound down, 1 pound up. Its very frustrating since I feel like 19 pounds in 4 1/2 weeks is not very good results.
I have very bad pain in my side (left side on the rib cage) it's hard to reach or take deep breaths. I haven't felt that before this week. I hope I havn't pulled anything.
Thanks for all your input, it ALWAYS helps me.
Have a great day everyone!

Well, I'm not saying anything different than anyone else has, but it'll add to the list of people telling you that you're completely normal! :)
In the beginning, the only way your body can possibly react is to quickly drop weight. But before long it starts thinking, "Hey...I better hold on to some of this so I don't starve!" That's where the stall comes in. But don't despair. Keep following your rules, make sure you're getting in all your fluids, and your body will have to start losing again. It's a given. I went through the same thing. I think my first stall was somewhere around week 3, and like Dalton, I stalled for awhile every month while I was losing.
Hang in there, you'll start up again! Oh, and make sure you're taking measurements, because chances are when the scale doesn't move, those measurement numbers will!

I went through a stall about the same time you did from surgery...I thought it would NEVER end. It was close to 2 weeks. Even now, I still only lose like 2-3 lbs. during the month and about 8-10 the week after I get my period. I hate it, but I remember that's how I was before the surgery when I dieted.
Have a great day!!!
