I have been in a stall for a month now.  I am so concerned that this is were my body stops losing the weight.  Although I am happier with the way I look this is not were I want to be.  Please tell me this is normal and I will start back again it has only been 7 months.  Can anyone give me some encouraging words?  Thanks to you all.

Lisa,

You are not likely to be done with your journey at this point. Look at your intake and activity. If you aren't logging those things, try using something like www.mydailyplate.com to log your intake. Check with your nutritionist, but when trying to lose, my program recommends a 40/30/30 percentage of protien/fat/carbs when trying to lose. When you are charting you should be able to tell how much protien, calories, etc... you are getting. Be sure that you are getting plenty of fluids as well.

This may allow you to fine tune things a bit, but it is also possible that you are right on track and your body is just needing to take a breather for a bit and will start the downhill slide again. This happens. If you haven't taken measurements, do that. It will help show you another type of progress that for some reason seems to move forward with then scale stalls.

Keep working on it. You aren't finished, your body has just taken a rest stop break.

Hang in there,

Barbara

Oh Lisa ~ It is SOOO normal and it stinks!!! And it is the first of MANY to come :( Unfortunately, after the 6 month mark it is not such smooth sailing!! I consistantly lost 20lbs a month for the first 5 months, then after that 10lbs. a month, but now I am lucky to make 10lbs. a month...and will go 2 or 3 weeks and not lose anything or maybe gain 2lbs. then one day overnight, drop 2 lbs. then the next day another 2lbs.
It is CRAZY, but I promise you are not alone!!!!
Hang in there!!

Thanks Barb and Jami, you both have encouraged me so much.  I was hoping I wasn't finished and feel much better now.

Check your inches... a lot of times when the scale stops the tape measure moves. If you hit 4 weeks with no change on the scale OR tape measure call your NUT, you may need to make some changes nutritionally. When it comes to exercise it takes your body approx 6 weeks to get use to a routine so switch it up... also remember as you lose weight its easier for you to move around and you need to amp up the level you are working out at to burn the calories... walking at moderate pace at 300lbs isnt the same as walking at a moderate pace at 200lbs right?
Its all normal... just like you need a rest, your body needs a rest too.. the scale will move again :-)
