swallow test?!?
I'm sitting in my hospital room, 20 hours post-op. very groggy. STILL waiting for my swallow test!! It's past 10:00 am. They told me it would be this "morning". No pain to speak of, unless I get up and move around a lot. Love the squeezy boots on my legs- feels like a gentle massage. I've had a little nausea, but not bad. Hard to sleep last night, took mostly little naps. Have been surviving on these little blue sponges on a stick dipped in cold water to wet my mouth, being careful NOT to swallow a drop.

Hi Meredith,
It's good to hear that you are doing well. If your nausea ends up escalating you can ask your RN for some Zofran... be sure not to let it get out of hand. Enjoy the massage and get some rest. I'm sure you'll have your swallow test soon and start enjoying sips of water and laps around the hospital halls.
Welcome to the loser's bench!

Sounds like you are doing amazingly well! I'm jealous! LOL
The squeezy boots was one of the worst experiences of my hospital experience! I despised them! They made me sweat so bad! I think my room was way hotter than it should have been though. I'm glad you like them!

I just have to say Congrats!
I sipped a little of that sponge water I cannot lie!
Lucky me, Duke Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery Group no longer does the swallow test unless they have reason to suspect a problem.
Enjoy the boots, look around online and you might be able to find the IGIA home version. I got a set a few years ago after I enjoyed the leg things from my hysterectomy. They are so great after a long day.
