My lympedema pump people called and told me bcbs approved the pump.
I should get the pump by Wednesday.
When the tech came out last week we ran the pump on one leg and saw a lower measurment.
just after 30 minutes.
What a wonderful unexpected present.
Maybe I can wear shorts this summer OMG unfamilar area.

Wow Annie, thats great news.  I was recently diagnosed with Primary Lymphedema.  Apparently I've had it all my life and no Dr ever recognised it or thought it was an issue.  I had been complaining about my swollen legs since my early teens, I could NEVER wear knee high boots like all my friends and in order to get jeans that fit my legs they were always too big for my waist.  It's great to know that the insurance people recognise this as a disease and are willing to pay for treatment.  That does help ease my mind of the anger, frustration and anxiety this diagnosis has caused for me.

((hug))

Hi Catt,
I totally understand what you mean about not being able to wear boots knee hi socks and jeans.
In fact here is a situation where I did my reseach and thxs to OH found out about lymphadema on my own.
I went to my pcp ask her to refere me to a therapist which she gave me two names that she had on file.
I went to the therapist 8 times and then I asked her about the pump.
She gave me the name of FLEXITOUCH I looked it up sent them an email and they contacted me.
I have to say Flexitouch has been very helpful in helping me get the pump and doing everything that was required for the insurance company.
Just one more benefit of wls and my journey is I have learned in this day and age you have to speak up and be proactive in your health care.
The way I told Lee is I told him I diagnosed myself and have taken steps to help myself.
If you have time checkout FLEXITOUCH.

 Congrats Annie!

That definitely is good news.  That, combined with the fact that you're responsible for it - way to be proactive in your own treatment!
